CS4 Interface

The new interface promises to make our lives easier and for some people a little interesting. You can see we have a number of obvious changes. Like tabbed windows and panels and the new application bar. Another interesting new feature is the Application frame. For PC users this is nothing new, but on a Mac we now have the option of containing Photoshop within an application frame. The cool is thing is that this feature is optional. Just go under the Window menu to turn it on or off.

Canvas Rotation

The all-new Canvas Rotation tool allows you to rotate your canvas without actually altering the pixels. Just like if you had a drawing on a table and turned it around to get a better angle for a certain stroke. Same thing here, just in a virtual sense. It does take some getting used to but I think this will be a big help.

Smart Filters

Toolbar

You will notice the toolbar has some new tools. The 3D tools have now found a permanent home in the toolbar. There is also the canvas rotation tool for easy access as well.

Smart Filters

Vibrance

The Vibrance adjustment is the only new adjustment in the adjustment panel. This feature, if you remember from Camera raw, lets you punch up the colors and contrast of your image with overly saturating the overall color.
