Vickie, Thank-you for your comment. The answer to your question is more of an explanation. I bought several images at a Louisville,KY colossal antique market asking for Civil War era tin-types. There was in fact a number of display cases with Civil War items; every thing in those cases was supposed to be "Civil War Era" for sale. My reason of course was to try my best retouching on some of the oldest images available. General dating can also be determined by imagery in the tin-type: the all black wedding dress, the dog-eared backdrop scene, and the little brass table which displays and promotes (for the unknown photographer) what was then considered, the novelty items called "photographs".
