Nice work Michael. One would never guess that some of these images started out as photographs. Very artistic. I will say, however, the sunset feels like it belongs in a different collection - landscapes perhaps.

Steve - Thanks for the nice comments! My work is to try to get away from the photograph as much as possible. I apply a lot work/ paint on top of the picture. I usually use multiple pictures of the subject so I get a feel for the personality. For example for this image started out as a shot that was blown out by the flash. So I had to make sure that I warmed up the kids to give them that lively look. Additionally, I had to draw in details that were lost in the shadows. I also refocused the light direction.
