'Meeting with the Mist' was shot on a late fall campout. Freezing rain fell through the night. We woke to a perfectly calm air sunrise. The warming sunshine generated a heavy evaporative fog that hung very still in the air. You could watch the mist develop on the surface of the water,rise just a short distance and hang motionless above the water. My son stepped out onto the fishing levee to pose for the silhoutted shot.
