This is a very similar shot to a picture already posted here, but with added star trails. A total of 431 shots, 20 seconds long, 21 seconds appart, were used to make this image. Photos were stacked in After Effects, but Photoshop was key to updating some photos due to people walking through and cars coming by. A single photo was also shot in the evening so that the horizon with the trees could be outlined. I also shot a daytime image the following morning while the camera was locked on the tripod to do a roll-over of a daytime/night time image (http://tinyurl.com/6gjzud). There are a couple of movies on there also that shows how the image was created.

Not only is this a cool image that obviously took a LONG time and a lot of patience to create, the movies you did to illustrate the process make me appreciate the image even more! Brilliant work!! Thanks for sharing the link to the site with the movies. -- Larry Becker, NAPP Exec Director

Great image! Thanks for the link to the movie. A reminder that 'quick & easy' tips people often want are no substitute for talent, patience & hard work.

Excellent work. I actually contacted you before I joined NAPP. I've tried it, but my results aren't as spectacular as yours. I ended up with gaps where my camera's interval timer apparently malfunctioned and I was also unable to shoot as long as I had wanted. I really appreciate your help though!
